OFW suffering from throat inflammation and blood vomiting cries for help

Working abroad is not an easy job.  There are a lot of factors that any overseas Filipino worker (OFW) should deal with like rude employers and employers who take advantage of their weaknesses, homesickness, delayed salary, and diseases.

Most often, if an OFW is sick, he or she is left with just himself or herself going for hospitalization and being forced to work even when sick.

If he or she is lucky, his or her employers may offer a sick leave and may also volunteer to pay for hospitalization and medication.  But what about if the employer is not kind? The OFW is left untreated and still continues to work even under pressure and in worst conditions.

This is what a Filipina OFW in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Jane Avila Unto is experiencing at the moment.

Unto has recently aired her pleading to Philippine embassy in Riyadh and to all concerned agencies and officials to help her in her present condition.

Unto made a video of her pleading but her voice could not be heard because she could not speak due to an inflammation of her throat.  According to Unto, she could not eat and could not take in anything due to her inflamed throat.

She said that she also suffers from vomiting blood aside from her throat inflammation.

She calls to everyone who is able to help her.  Her only wish is to be able to go home to the Philippines and have her treatment.

Calling Unto’s recruitment agency and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) in Riyadh.  May an immediate action of help be accorded to her to alleviate her debilitating situation and may she get treatment in the soonest possible time.

Unto lives in King Abdulaziz Street, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She may be reached at her telephone number +966504178953 and +966500961853.
