OFW in Riyadh locked in a room by employer starving for 3 days

Working abroad may be one of the most difficult decisions to make for any OFW because of many reasons they may be considering like homesickness, distance, delayed salary, difficulty of going home for urgent cases, and harsh conditions with the employer.  Oftentimes, many OFWs experience the worst of these reasons with their employers who treat them badly.

Another OFW story has gone viral lately as this was posted and reposted in several Facebook accounts and in several Facebook pages.  Emlisa Buenaventura, an OFW in Riyadh, uploaded a video of her locked in a room and starving for three days as she was not given any food by her employer.

It is understood from her posts and conversations with her friend Ycel Manuel with whom she was sharing her condition and asking for help that she was locked in her room by her employer, already losing strength and asking the people with whom she entrusted her kids to take care of them.

Ycel Manuel, the neighbor of Buenaventura as construed from her post that appears below appealed to the public to help Buenaventura who was understood to have been taken by her employer in a 5-hour trip to Buraida City from Riyadh then afterwards locked in a room with no food to eat and no water to drink and was already vomiting blood as it was mentioned in Manuel’s post.

In her post, Manuel also mentioned that Buenaventura already contacted her agency, Mj Man Power Agency for help but they replied that they could not process any help because during the time she contacted them it was Friday and holiday in Riyadh.

The following photo shows another screenshot of Buenaventura’s conversation with Manuel recounting her condition, asking for help, and pleading for her kids to be taken care of well by family and people who have them.  There is no update from her up to this posting.
