Having a relative like your father, mother, brother, sister, aunt or uncle, who is working as an Overseas Filipino Worker is normal in a Filipino family. A lot of our loved ones are choosing to serve and work for people of other nationalities because of the benefits and perks that they can receive. Some of them are receiving higher salaries that they won’t be able to earn in the Philippines while others are given a chance to migrate and bring their family members with them.
Working overseas does not only benefit people financially — it also gives them a sense of security as well. With working abroad, some people feel that they are in the greener pasture and can get to enjoy equal job opportunities and promotions as well.
Group of Skilled Workers Asking for Help
While some of our migrant workers find their luck in another country, some of them who are wishing to provide better for their families are facing crisis and challenges, especially in the Middle East country.
A group of skilled workers in Saudi Arabia is calling out Raffy Tulfo to seek assistance in helping them get what they deserve. According to the group’s spokesperson, the company is treating them inhumanely. They need assistance to go home. It’s been two months since they are waiting for an update regarding their Exit visas and tickets to go home.
Gusto na namin magmove-on. Ayaw na namin magtigil dito.
Salary Every Three Months
They are yet to receive their settlement as well. The group is only receiving their salaries every three months and despite the delay, they only get one month worth of their salary. All of them were not informed by the agency when they were hired. This is hard for these skilled workers since their families are also relying on their salary plus they still have loans to pay back home.
Not only that, most of them do not have IQAMA, which is needed when working in strict countries like Saudi Arabia. Some of their fellow workers were already caught by the police.
The OFWs are already tired of waiting and trying to understand the company.
