We Filipinos are known as happy people. No matter what the situation is, we always try to stay as positive as we can and find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. This is the reason why a lot of foreigners regard Filipinos as one of the happiest as well as the most optimistic people around the world.

Due to the optimistic and hardworking attitude of Filipinos, many employers around the globe prefer getting Filipino domestic helpers. Many household helpers are having a good experience with their employers and their employers are rewarding them in return.

Being optimistic and positive is the same attitude that a group of Overseas Filipino Workers is showcasing, even in the middle of a huge crisis in Riyadh.

Group of OFWs

In a Facebook post, Nico Castalone is calling out the government and President Rodrigo Duterte to help him, along with a group of other Filipino migrant workers. According to him, they didn’t have any food, sleep, and even bath for seven straight days. Plus, since it is already summer in a very hot country like Riyadh, they are suffering even more.

No Reason

Without any reason, Nico, together with nine other Filipinos were forced to stop working and taken to a location. They are not sure what is the reason behind it since they have all the complete documentation to work as Overseas Filipino Workers. They also signed an Employment Contract to work in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for two years but it has only been ten months since they started working.

The series of photos sent by Nico showed the worse situation being faced by the OFWs. They are with other foreigners who are facing the same situation as the other Filipinos.

We are hoping that the government can do something about this. Please save our Filipino modern-day heroes.
