When it comes to finding chances on love, it can be hard for an Overseas Filipino Worker. While some of them are suffering from broken marriages, there are also others who are in a relationship but experience being fooled by their partners.
An OFW in Japan experienced this lesson when her boyfriend deceived her to get her money.
OFW in Japan Fooled By Her Boyfriend
According to Cynthia Udagawa, a former OFW in Japan and now a resident, she’s in a relationship with Joseph Go since 2012 until the present time. She mentioned that she often let Go handle her money and even if he is not asking, she is always giving him some allowance.
However, her nightmare started when she sent almost PHP150,000 to him to pay for her properties in the Philippines. After sending her hard-earned money, Go blocked her on Facebook. He stopped all forms of communication too. Upon further investigations, she learned that she is not the only one who Go fooled because of money.
Nalaman ko po na ang tinatarget nya po pala eh halos mga nagJaJapan. Hindi lang po ako binibiktima nya. Napakaradami po namin.
Confirmed By His Brother
Raffy Tulfo called his brother, John Go to confirm Joseph’s whereabouts. Upon talking to him, John stated that it is not the first time that his brother was complained about money.
Joseph is not a drug addict nor has vices. However, he’s raising his son and doesn’t have a job to sustain their needs. He already fooled a total of 10 women.
Cynthia also revealed that she and Joseph were planning to get married in Japan by April this year. She already fixed her company VISA and sent him to study in TESDA. What’s hurting the former OFW in Japan is that she already spent thousands of pesos to prepare his arrival in Japan.
Colonel Raymond Ligudin from CIDG Anti-Fraud suggested filing Estaffa. To make the case heavier and non-bailable, he asked Cynthia and Raffy to talk to the other victims for them to file a case against Joseph too.Everything ended better for Cynthia: she confirmed that Joseph paid her already. His first payment of 50,000 was made last January 30 while his second one was sent last February 13, amounting to 16,500. The final payment was in a form of a Toyota Corolla XL 1994 amounting to 80,000. She also requested for the Raffy Tulfo in Action team to turn down their post about Joseph on their official Facebook page.
