Overseas Filipino Workers are known as modern-day heroes because of their sacrifices not only for their family but for the country. Most of them are deciding to move and work overseas to bring food to the table and to give a much better life for their family.
With the graduation season just around the corner, most of them are just contented looking at the photos of their graduating family members. A lot of them are willing to make huge sacrifices and are willing to be away from their families just to send their children or sibling to school.
However, there is recent news pointing out that our modern day heroes all over the world, especially those in the Middle East, are facing dangers at some point in their lives from working abroad. Some of them are suffering from certain diseases while some are suffering from physical and mental abuse from their employers. One of them is Joanne Palma.
