Overseas Filipino Workers are called modern-day heroes without a reason. All of them are sacrificing their comfort and happiness with the aim to provide their families with a better future. Although a lot of them were successful in sending their children to better schools and putting food on the table, there are also some who are suffering from the hands of their abusive and maltreating employers, especially those working in the Middle East.

One of our Kababayans who is suffering from the hands of her employer is Yhukie Nuada.

Unhelpful Agency

To speed up the process, the domestic helper asked help from her agency, Federal Overseas Manpower Incorporated (in Manila) and Fawaris Alaamal Recruitment Office (in Saudi Arabia). However, he plea for help was immediately turned down. After pleading from them to rescue her from her employer’s house, the two agencies just kept mum.

According to the agency, her employers will not hurt her unless she did something wrong. They were also asking for PHP25,000 to be paid to the employer.

Hindi ka ssktn ng amo mu kung wla kang ginawa mei ebidnsya kbng sinaktan ka nla..naku ine hnd gnun kadali may pmbyad kba na 25thousand sa employer mu cge nga anu ibabayad mu sknla.

This is not the first time that an OFW asked help from the agency and immediately turned down. One of our Kababayans also asked help from her agency before but was asked to pay first.
