Many female Overseas Filipino Workers who work abroad are suffering from trauma and abuse from their employers. Some people would throw stones at them and say that it’s their fault for working abroad even if they know that there is a possibility of suffering from maltreatment and abuse. However, some people don’t have any choice and are forced to leave the country and work overseas just to provide the financial needs of the family.

Series of Videos

The Facebook page OFW CCTV posted a series of videos and screenshots of an OFW who is hysterically crying and narrating the things that happened to here upon coming to work in Saudi Arabia.

According to the unnamed OFW who is working as a domestic helper in Saudi Arabia, upon arriving at her employer’s house, she was promised to just take care and clean one small house in exchange for her salary of 1,000 Kuwaiti Dinar. However, it turns out that the employer is not saying the truth. As the OFW revealed, she had to clean two houses every day. If there are no classes, she has to clean two more.

Knives and Children

Not only that, the employer’s children are maltreating her too. They started pointing knives at her. Whenever she tells her employers, they are not doing anything to stop the children.

Sabi ko sa amo ko po, na kung kutsilyo, hindi ginagawang biro ng mga bata yan kasi tinuturo sakin yung kutsilyo. Hinahayaan ko lang po yun.

The OFW also recalled how the employers are getting angry at her every time there is no food left on the table. After telling her mother-in-law about her situation, she suffered from high blood pressure.
